PDP ASSISTANT YOUTH LEADER HOLDS FAMILIARITY MEETING WITH IBIONO IBOM PDP FAMILY...Sues for unity, support for Gov. Eno
The Assistant Youth Leader, Uyo Senatorial District of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Akwa Ibom State, Barr. Itohowo Ibe Bassey, has sued for unity and loyalty from party faithful in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area.
Barr. Bassey made the call on Friday, during a familiarity meeting with the Ibiono Ibom PDP Family, made up of Chapter Executive, Ward Chairmen and Ward Youth Leaders.
While thanking the Chapter leadership of the party for honouring his invitation, Barr. Bassey called for more support for the Leader of the Party and Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, as well as the State Chairman of the PDP, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Aniekan Akpan, saying the PDP means well for Ibiono Ibom and Akwa Ibom State.
The PDP Assistant Youth Leader, Uyo Senatorial District particularly called for synergy among the faithful and further declared his readiness to partner with everyone for the growth of the party and the state.
"I don't like division. I want to work with everyone. Let's forge ahead together. I believe in peace. We have to work together as a party to achieve a common goal. We need to work holistically from the grassroots. You can't have a State without the LGAs. You can't have a Chapter without the wards. You can't have the ward without the polling units", he said.
Bassey also advanced arguments in favour of the Ibiono Ibom PDP Chairmanship Candidate, Hon. Asukak Umoh, describing him as a committed and sincere young leader who will not disappoint the youths and Ibiono Ibom in general.
Similarly, the Ibiono Ibom PDP Chairman, Comrade Unyime Leo, lauded the Assistant Youth Leader, Uyo Senatorial District of the party, Barr. Bassey for his thoughtfulness in convening the familiarity visit and said the Chapter leadership will work with and support him to succeed in his new assignment.
"Our task is to reunite the party. The era of faction is all over. We will work with you. All Ward Chairmen will work with you."
"I see you (Itohowo Bassey) as an intelligent and humble personality. We will work as a family and ensure you're respected in the state. My mantra as Chapter Chairman is building together and working together. Ibiono Ibom will be more prosperous in our time", he noted.
Speaker after speaker at the meeting, congratulated Barr. Itohowo Bassey on his recent election and swearing-in as State Assistant Youth Leader, Uyo Senatorial District of the Party.
Elder Bassey Utit, a ranking Ward Chairman, conveyed the appreciation of the Ward Chairmen's Forum to Barr. Bassey, while Comrade Itoro Umah, a Chapter Youth Leader of the Party
said the youths will continue to work with the party to win and grow across board.
On her part, the Vice Chapter Chairman, Ibiono Ibom, Hon. Precious Daniels, as well as Prince Nkereuwem Asuquo Effiong, Ward Chairman Ibiono Ibom Eastern 3, among others, promised to collaborate with the new Assistant PDP Youth Leader and other members of the party for the overall interest of the party.
Prayers of wisdom and divine protection were offered for the State Governor, State PDP Chairman, Ibiono Ibom PDP Chapter and Barr. Itohowo Bassey respectively.
The meeting was attended by PDP Chapter Executive members in Ibiono Ibom, led by
Comrade Unyime Leo, all Ward Chairmen and all Ward Youth Leaders.
