Mercy Chinwo, a gospel singer, sued secular musician Obidiz for appropriating her name and image in a song with commercial appeal.

The singer accused him of disparagingly utilizing her name and likeness in a secular music audio and video in a lawsuit filed on March 23rd.

Obidiz received a cease and desist letter from her attorneys asking him to stop exploiting her name and likeness to promote his music.

He is to take down the song which he published with immediate effect from all musical platforms and to take down promotional video containing image and clips from all social media platforms.


Failure to heed to their demands, the full machinery of the law will be set in motion against him seeking 2billion in damages.
